Group Structure
Sun International own 70% while the remaining 30% is owned by Grand Parade Investments. The business operation is licensed to install and operate approximately 5200 LPMs in the premises of licensed venues (typically pubs, bars, clubs, hotels, taverns, bookmakers, social clubs and adult entertainment locations), primarily with age controlled access.
Industry Stakeholders
Sun Slots currently own and operate six LPM Route Operators across 4 provinces within South Africa. Grand Gaming Slots runs in both Gauteng and Mpumalanga, Hot Slots also in Gauteng, while KwaZulu-Natal has both Kingdomslots and KZN Slots, and Grandslots which is operational in Western Cape. South African National Gambling Board
The National Gambling Board is responsible for the oversight of the regulation in the gambling industry throughout the country and to preserve the integrity of South Africa’s a responsible global citizen.
The Gauteng Gambling Board
The following forms of activities are regulated by the Board in Gauteng: casino gaming, betting on horse-racing and sporting events, bingo, limited payout gaming machines (Route and site operators) and the manufacturing and supply of gambling equipment.
The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board
The Board is charged with receiving and investigating applications for licences pertaining to the various sectors of the gambling and betting industries in the Province, considering licence applications and exercising regulatory authority over the conduct of gambling and betting operations by all entities and persons licensed by it.
The South African Responsible Gambling Foundation
Provides Free and Confidential Treatment and Counselling to those affected by Problem Gambling and their immediate family members. For the past 16 Years The SARGF has treated more than 16, 000 people. We also educate South Africans about the potential harmful effect of problem gambling and responsible gambling.
The National Responsible Gambling Programme
The National Responsible Gambling Programme - a public/private sector initiative - is the only one of its kind in Africa. It was founded in June 2000 and is acknowledged internationally to be exceptionally well-funded and among the most comprehensive in the world.
Route Gaming Solutions
Route Gaming Solutions (Pty) Ltd is a South African company which was founded in August of 2000. The Company was established with the sole intention of developing, maintaining, supporting and providing technical solutions for the Central Electronic Monitoring System also known as the CEMS. The CEMS was developed to monitor Limited Payout Machines in The Republic of South Africa, and was delivered according to strict government guidelines.
The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator
The Mpumalanga Economic Regulator has been tasked with monitoring and regulating both the Gambling and Liquor industry in Mpumalanga. The MER in compliance with the Public Finance Management Act, 1999 (Act No. 1 of 1999), as amended ("PFMA"), in particular the provisions as contained in sections 50 and 51 thereof, is committed to the principles of openness, integrity and accountability.
The KwaZulu-Natal Liquor Authority
Established on 01 August 2012, with a legislative mandate to control and regulate the retail sale and micro manufacture of liquor in the province of KwaZulu-Natal.
The KZN Gambling Board
The KwaZulu-Natal Gambling Board has been established as a juristic person governed by the conditions as outlined in the KwaZulu-Natal Gambling Act No. 10 of 1996 as amended.
The Gauteng Liquor Authority
Regulates the retail sale and micro-manufacturing of liquor in the province.
The Western Cape Liquor Authority
The Western Cape Liquor Authority (WCLA) regulates the retail sale and micro-manufacturing of liquor in the province.
